Born in 1965 and raised on the west coast of Norway, 30 min drive North of Bergen on an island called Holsnøy. I have always been fascinated by the nature and what’s living in it.
For the last decades, I have travelled around the world with my camera, from the Arctic in the North to Antarctica in the South.
After several workshops with my mentor Morten Krogvold, I started to get more involved in fine art photography and black and white images.
“Great filmmakers portray silence with sound. A next inaudible church bell, the faint sound of a sheep's bell or a muffled cry of birds, emphasises the silence. In Wilfred's pictures, I sense the sound of ice in motion, wind or just the sound of a bird in flight
Wilfred’s photographs have an almost meditative feel that approaches poetry.” Morten Krogvold
“Wilfred’s work transmits loneliness, fragile environment, light, the minimalism and the mystery of landscape.” Ralph Gibson
The urge to create something, use my creativity and communicate something to other people. Photographers like Salgado, Kenna and Adams are my sources of inspiration.
I have to express my passion.
I want to create.
